Role Overview
Join our organization as a dedicated HSE Engineer. As part of our team you'll work in an ONSITE environment and play a critical part in ensuring a safe, compliant, and healthy workplace. Your expertise will drive initiatives to identify, assess, and mitigate operational risks, in line with the most current safety standards and regulations.
Responsibilities
- Develop, implement, and monitor health, safety, and environmental programs/training and best practices.
- Conduct detailed risk assessments and hazard analyses for various projects and complex operations.
- Ensure organizational compliance with local, national, and international safety and environmental regulations.
- Investigate workplace incidents, perform root cause analysis, and document findings for corrective actions and continuous improvement.
- Prepare comprehensive reports and maintain up-to-date records related to HSE performance, incidents, and near-misses.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to foster a culture of health, safety, and environmental responsibility.
- Lead regular audits and inspections to proactively identify and address potential hazards.
Must have requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field, e.g., Safety Engineering or Mechanical Engineering with a focus on safety.
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience in health and safety practices.
- Demonstrated expertise in developing and overseeing risk management strategies for complex operations.
- Strong knowledge of local, national, and international HSE regulations and standards.
- Ability to recognize and classify workplace hazards (physical, chemical, ergonomic, biological, psychosocial).
- Proficient in qualitative and quantitative risk assessment methodologies and tools.
- Experienced in incident investigation, root cause analysis (including 5 Whys, Fishbone Diagram), documentation, and reporting.
Nice to have requirements
- Professional HSE certifications (e.g., NEBOSH, IOSH, OSHA, ISO 45001 Lead Auditor).
- Familiarity with environmental sustainability programs and initiatives.
- Experience in safety management within the UAE or Gulf region.
- Strong communication, leadership, and training delivery skills.
- Ability to implement digital solutions for HSE management and reporting.
