Deputy DC Manager is responsible for managing 24/7 data center facility operations. They are in charge of planning, organizing, and coordinating the daily professional operations. This role is accountable for Data center facility equipment maintenance and inventory, customer service, employee management, and ensuring compliance with security and safety regulations
Duties & Responsibilities
Team Leadership:
- Managing the performance of team of data center facility engineers.
- Ensuring effective and efficient management of day-to-day data center operations including queue management, 7/24 shift arrangement and hardware logistics.
- Responsible for the Implementation of staff training programs, coaching, teams certificate requirements.
- Supporting the culture of teamwork at the site.
- Managing and improving the workflows and throughput for data centers facility activities.
- Empowering team members with skills to improve their product knowledge, and communication skills.
- Conducting quarterly performance reviews for the shift technicians and facility engineers.
- Managing relationships with operations team.
Facility Management:
- Managing Large Scale Events (outages) and act as the call leader
- Managing the facility planning, maintenance and documentation.
- Interacting with system managers and vendors to coordinate the maintenance and repair of the electrical, mechanical and light current systems.
- Managing and supervising the regular testing of primary and backup facility equipment.
- Reviewing facility preventive, corrective and reactive maintenance.
- Reviewing existing procedures and propose and implementing additional maintenance procedures needed in addition to being responsible for and maintaining Data Center regulations, rules and procedures concerning security, privacy, health, safety and environmental protection.

Education
- A bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
Experience
- +7 years of engineering experience with 5 years with large facilities.
- Thorough experience in the design, operation, and commissioning of existing technologies and emerging developments of datacenter electrical distribution infrastructure, including high voltage utility connections, customer substations, back-up generators, switchgear, low voltage systems, UPS, protection systems, power quality, electrical monitoring and control systems.
- Extensive experience being involved in large scale technical operations, and demonstrable problem-solving leadership with limited oversight.
- Strong people leadership skills and demonstrated success at developing teams and future leaders.
- Analytical mindset and experience creating status reports for leadership.
Knowledge:
- A very good understanding of mechanical and electrical systems in use in the Data Center environment including generators, switchgear, UPS systems, ATS & STS units, PDUs.
- Advanced knowledge in data center electrical, mechanical and local systems, design and operation, SOPs, EOPs, MOPs, maintenance types, and systems maintenance vendors.
- Knowledge of large-scale industrial/commercial power distribution systems.
- Deep knowledge in data center policies and procedures, site quality control procedures and documentation and site vendor training and supervision.
- Knowledge of government & corporate regulations, new employee company policy and company administrative policy.
