Role Overview
As a Project Engineer - Mechanical, you will play a critical role in managing and delivering advanced mechanical systems for mission-critical and large-scale MEP projects. As part of our team you'll work in an ONSITE environment, driving installations and collaborating with stakeholders to deliver high-quality engineering solutions, particularly within the data center industry.
 
Responsibilities
  • Lead and supervise mechanical installation and testing works across various project phases.
  • Verify installation processes and oversee testing, commissioning, and witnessing activities for HVAC systems and allied equipment.
  • Prepare, review, and coordinate detailed shop drawings, coordination drawings, and as-built drawings.
  • Develop and review material submittals, technical datasheets, compliance statements, and documentation.
  • Compile and assess Installation and Testing & Commissioning RAMS, as well as method statements and ITPs.
  • Support testing procedures, generate test scripts, and manage compilation of comprehensive test reports—including SAT and site test documentation.
  • Collaborate on the preparation of Integrated Systems Testing (IST) documentation and readiness plans.
  • Coordinate with contractors, consultants, and key stakeholders, effectively representing project requirements during regular meetings.
  • Make sure risk assessments, permit-to-work documents, snag lists, and project schedules are comprehensively managed.
  • Oversee the production and review of O&M manuals, training plans, and handover documentation to ensure smooth project close-outs.
Must have requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering.
  • Minimum 3–5 years of experience working on mission-critical or large-scale MEP projects, particularly with a data center focus.
  • Strong hands-on background in HVAC systems (chillers, CRAH/CRAC, FWU, cooling towers, ducting, piping, BMS interfaces).
  • Proven expertise in installation verification, testing, commissioning, and witnessing activities.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead mechanical installation and testing teams effectively.
  • Experience in preparing and reviewing detailed shop, coordination, and as-built drawings.
  • Proficiency in handling material submittals, technical datasheets, compliance statements, and project documentation.
  • Familiarity with drafting and assessing installation and T&C RAMS, method statements, and ITPs.
  • Experience developing risk assessments, permit-to-work procedures, and snag lists.
  • Capability to manage O&M manuals, training plans, and comprehensive handover documentation.
  • In-depth knowledge of ASHRAE and relevant international mechanical engineering standards.
  • Strong communication skills and confidence in stakeholder engagement and coordination with contractors and consultants.
  • Prior experience within the data center sector.
Nice to have requirements
  • Certification such as CTDC (Certified TIA-942 Design Consultant) or ATD (Accredited Tier Designer).
