Role Overview
As a Financial Controller, you will play a key role in ensuring audit, compliance, and process controls across our diverse operations. Working closely with the and reporting to the Finance Manager, you will be based at our Head Office in Dubai, contributing to a dynamic team. Your expertise in audit and tax standards—particularly across the UAE and GCC—will help us maintain absolute accuracy and timeliness in financial reporting, compliance, and internal controls across multiple regions.
Responsibilities
- Audit the finance team's work in line with IFRS, including journal entries, reconciliations, and financial statements.
- Review VAT filings prior to submission for each country of operation.
- Examine audit reports and coordinate proactively with external auditors, ensuring all findings are addressed internally first.
- Verify that country-specific accounting and taxation standards (UAE, KSA, Bahrain, Qatar, Kuwait, Turkey, Lebanon) are applied correctly.
- Sign off on Corporate Tax (CT) computations and returns.
- Oversee and control the end-to-end finance process, ensuring closings, filings, and reviews adhere to the defined workflow and are completed on time in each cycle.
- Report on VAT and audit status to the Finance Manager, proactively flagging any emerging risks.
- Design and enforce strong internal controls including segregation of duties, approval matrices, and review checklists.
- Recommend and drive corrective actions when process issues are identified, which may include training, tool changes, or workflow updates.
- Act as the principal contact point for external auditors during the year-end audit process.
Must have requirements
- Strong background and hands-on experience in Audit and Taxation is mandatory.
- Minimum 3–4 years of relevant work experience in the UAE, with proven exposure to the broader GCC region.
- Previous roles must have been focused on Audit and Taxation.
- Chartered Accountancy qualification such as CA or equivalent is mandatory; professional audit certification required. CPA or ACCA is considered an additional advantage.
- Thorough understanding of UAE and GCC tax regulations, VAT rules, and audit practices.
- In-depth knowledge of IFRS and regional corporate tax requirements.
- Proven experience managing multiple country finance operations.
- Exceptional analytical and communication skills.
Nice to have requirements
- Experience with financial controls in digital and multi-entity settings.
- Hands-on experience implementing new finance tools or ERPs.
- Fluency in Arabic or Turkish.
- Prior work with MNCs or large regional groups.
